Summary: Use Landline responsibly. The app sends notifications to family members — it does not provide telephone service. Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Landline ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Landline is a family notification app developed by Westward Engineering ("we," "us," or "our"). When someone "phones home," family members at home receive loud push notifications. Recipients can then tap to call back using their device's native Phone or FaceTime app.

Landline is not a telephone service. It does not provide VoIP calling, cellular calling, or any direct communication between devices. All actual calls are placed through your device's built-in calling capabilities.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Landline. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement.

4. Account Registration

You may create an account using Apple Sign In or email. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.

5. Subscriptions and Payments

Landline offers auto-renewable subscriptions:

Gold — Monthly or annual billing. Includes custom ringtones, all notification levels, call history, haptic feedback, flashlight alerts, and voice announcements.
Platinum — Monthly or annual billing. Includes everything in Gold plus smart device ringing, multiple landlines, device health monitoring, custom caller photos, and priority support.

Subscription details:

Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your device's Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.
Free trial periods, if offered, will automatically convert to a paid subscription unless canceled before the trial ends.
Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the App for any unlawful purpose
Harass, abuse, or harm others through the App
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems
Interfere with or disrupt the App's operation
Use the App to send spam or unsolicited notifications to people who have not joined your family group

7. Location Services

Landline uses location services to determine whether you are at your designated home location. By enabling location services, you consent to the App accessing your device's location as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Push Notifications

The core functionality of Landline depends on push notifications. By using the App, you understand that you will receive loud, attention-getting notifications when someone phones your landline. You can control notification settings through iOS Settings.

9. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the App are owned by Westward Engineering and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that notifications will be delivered in all circumstances.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Westward Engineering shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time for violation of these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice in the App. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
